Services
Let's have a look at what we can offer
At Philomena Farms we strive to be of service in diverse ways. Check out this page to see what we can do for you!
Horseback riding lessons
English riding lessons (dressage and jumping) are available to children over the age of 6 and all ages of adults. If you are a beginner looking for the basics, an adult looking for recreational riding, or you seeking to enter or continue in a competitive manner, Valerie would be happy to teach you. She is a Licensed Instructor through Equestrian Canada (EC) and can also help anyone progress through the EC Learn to Ride program. Cost: 1hr lesson - $40/hour + tax
Equine Assisted Learning Sessions
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential approach that uses horses to help participants learn life skills such as trust, respect, communication skills, and teamwork. The sessions use problem-solving exercises that have been carefully developed to target specific objectives. Our horses are amazing teachers that help participants understand what they may need to change in order to continue growing as a person. Sessions are done with a minimum of 2 participants and can be done in larger groups. Anyone or any group of people can benefit from EAL as it provides insights into opportunities where personal growth is possible or how a team can improve their functionality together. It has also been proven to help individuals with Autism and other similar neurological conditions as well as individuals with mental health struggles such as with anxiety, depression or PTSD. Cost: Contact for pricing (military, veteran, and first responder discounts available)
Boarding
Philomena Farms has limited spaces for boarding but does maintain a small group of boarders. Boarders have access to the outdoor arena (40mx60m) as well as kilometers of trails that are being expanded upon. Full board and outdoor board options exist. Please contact for further details and availability. Cost: Full board $400 + tax / month Outdoor board $300 + tax / month
Food items
At Philomena Farms, we raise heritage pigs and broiler chickens which we then sell at extremely reasonable prices. All our meat is handled by a certified and licensed butcher prior to sale. Please contact for availability and prices. We also sell eggs (chicken, duck and turkey) from our large flock of layers. Plans for 2024 include adding fresh produce which will be grown hydroponically to be available year-round! More to follow in the coming months.
